We are delighted that you would like to visit Epworth Old Rectory. You can be assured of a warm welcome. All visitors receive a guided tour led by a trained guide. Tours usually take around 1 hour. The guides will show you around the house and tell you the stories of the Wesley family. Please feel free to ask questions. If there are more than ten people in your group, please contact us in advance to book in. Children have the opportunity of dressing up in 18th century costume for the tour. Hearth Project
Putting the Hearth back into the Home
The first stage of the major development project has begun. This will restore the main chimney breast with the fireplaces on either side. One is in the entrance hall and the other in the fore-kitchen. Both are very important rooms in the house. Transparent screens enable you to see the archaeological work taking place. Come and see what we discover. Conservation work is also being carried out on the whole house. Up to date information and progress can be found on facebook.
