Candlelit Tours of Epworth Old Rectory 2010
October 9th, 13th, 23rd, 27th November 6th, 10th, 17th and 20th
7pm to 8pm
Come and experience the life and stories of this 300 year old house and learn about the family who lived here. A costumed guide will lead you by the light of one candle. Cost £6 per person.
Please note that the tours are not suitable for children under the age of 12 years.

'Walk with Wesley’ tours

Due to the success of the walks this summer, we are offering them to groups of four or more on an ongoing basis. Why not bring a group from your church!
Just £5 per person for the walk! £8 per person (£4 for children) for the walk and visit Epworth Old Rectory!
Our circular guided walk begins at Epworth Old Rectory and stops at sites of historical significance to the Wesleys and early Methodism. These include: the John Wesley statue, the market cross & Red Lion inn, the church walk leading to St Andrews, the former Providence & Kilham Methodist New Connection chapels, Wesley Memorial Church, the site of the former Weslayan chapel and the former Wesley Manse.

Wesleyana Day and Book Sale
Do you have a treasure related to the Wesley family, to local Methodism in the Epworth area, or to Epworth Old Rectory? If so we would like you to bring it along to the Old Rectory to be considered by our team of experts. We regret that we cannot offer valuations. Come and browse in our second hand book sale to raise funds for the major Development Project.
Refreshments available all day.
Museums at Night Event
There will be a range of FREE activities for families and children from 6-8pm, including puppet and magic shows, live music, balloon modelling, outside games such as croquet, and 18th century school lessons.
From 8-10pm there will be a chance to experience the Rectory by candlelight. Expert guides in 18th century costume will be in each room. If you have not been on one of our popular Candlelit Tours before, this is a good opportunity to experience the Rectory by candlelight. If you have already been on a Candlelit Tour, this is a different format than those that have been offered in the past, with a different script and costumed guides in each room.
The Rectory Physic Garden will be lit and guides on hand to speak about the herbal plants. Hot food and refreshments will be available from 6pm - 10pm

Doncaster Waites Concert at Epworth Wesley Memorial Church
The Doncaster Waites are a local band that plays early 17th century music using a large selection of period instruments. They will perform in concert at Wesley Memorial Church in Epworth on Saturday 5th December at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be served during the intermission. Numbers are limited, so please book tickets in advance. Tickets cost just £5 per person and can be booked by calling 01427 872268 or emailing us.

Christmas Craft Fair
Epworth Old Rectory will host a Craft Fair on Saturday 5th December from 10am-3pm in the Rectory. There will be a variety of stalls with crafts from local craft makers, including hand crafted furniture, glasswork, homemade cards and stationary, jewellery, paintings, and plants. Live music will be played and refreshments (including mince pies and punch) will be available. Admission is free of cost.

Room 21
Room 21 are a popular and exciting local jazz band that plays swing music. They will perform in concert at Wesley Memorial Church in Epworth on Saturday 19 September at 7pm. The impressive 19th century church will provide an historical setting for the classic swing music of Room 21. Numbers are limited, so please book tickets in advance.
