Every charity needs support to continue to deliver its good work. Epworth Old Rectory is no exception. The Rectory receives no regular income from local or national government, and annual grants from the World Methodist Council and the British Methodist Church together with income from admissions, the shop, gift aid, and the Friends only just cover the basic running costs. There is no additional funding to provide conservation of the artefacts, training, acquiring additional artefacts to improve interpretation, publicity, or development.Donations are vital, and we are indebted to those who support us in this way: every donation is important, and even a small amount given per month makes a big difference.
At the Rectory we seek to remember and retell the story of the Wesley family in its 18th century setting while also upholding its contemporary relevance. With assistance from FRIENDS we can further enhance and develop the Rectory and the facilities we have.
The FRIENDS of Epworth Old Rectory are spread throughout the world united by their enthusiasm for the Old Rectory and its history. Led by a group of volunteers in Epworth – The Friends Development Group - FRIENDS of the Old Rectory help to maintain, strengthen, and develop this beautiful heritage site while enabling the story of the remarkable Wesley family to be interpreted.
