Your Visit

We are delighted that you would like to visit Epworth Old Rectory. You can be assured of a warm welcome. All visitors receive a guided tour led by a trained guide. Tours usually take around 1 hour. The guides will show you around the house and tell you the stories of the Wesley family. Please feel free to ask questions. If there are more than ten people in your group, please contact us in advance to book in. Children have the opportunity of dressing up in 18th century costume for the tour. Please ask your guide at the start of your tour.

Walk with Wesley

You can book a guided walk around the town of Epworth which takes in the main Wesley sites including the market cross, St. Andrew's Church, Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, Samuel Wesley's tomb and the Wesley statue. It also explores the way Methodism developed, showing the former and present sites of the Methodist New Connexion chapel and the Wesleyan chapel as well as other important sites. Full of information and interest, the walk is entertaining and allows you to set the Old Rectory in the context of Epworth and the Methodist movement. The walks take between one hour and one and a half hours, and are led by trained guides. The optimum size of group for the walks is 12 people, so if your group is larger, we will divide it up and run two or more walks. Please note that these are only available if they are pre-booked.
